Jan 9, 2016 – Hooray! The storm has passed and the waters
are infinitely smoother. Today we actually saw people around the ship and got
to spend time with our new friends. We’ve developed a bit of a group here
consisting of 2 Australians, 1 Italian, 1 Irish girl, 1 Swiss girl, a New
Yorker and us. We get a long great and its so fun sharing stories and
discussing our different cultures.
Since all meetings had been postponed yesterday it made for
a busy day today. We had a ship-wide safety briefing, and a zodiac procedure
meeting. We also had 3 kayak meetings (one for safety, one for fitting gear and
one for sizing the kayaks). There was also a mandatory meeting for the campers.
In between were a couple lectures. Some were interesting; others just put you
to sleep. Most everyone felt much better today though and we filled our plates
at dinner.
